Thankful:  For Baptism - Romans 6:1-7

Pre-K - 2nd Grade will be a "Walk Out Worship" that will leave after the opening time of worship during the service and will head downstairs to the first classroom on the right. This class will be using a curriculum called "Dwell" from Faith Alive to explore the stories of God's Word together. Parents should plan to pick up their children from Walk out Worship after the service ends, as we do with nursery.

3rd-5th Grade will be meeting from 11:00 to 11:30 am downstairs in the 2nd classroom on the right. This class will be using the Dwell curriculum. 

6th-12th Grade will be meeting from 11:00-11:30 am downstairs in the big room on the left. This year and next, these students will be studying the Heidelberg Catechism together using Kevin DeYoung's book "The Good News We Almost Forgot". This class will be taught by Pastor Jeremy.

LADIES AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY will meet on Tuesday, November 5 at 1:30pm at Bethel.  We will study lesson 4  “But What If” from Exodus 4:1-26.
 

Elders - 6pm, Deacons - 6:30pm and Full Council will meet at 7pm.  

TIME OF PRAYER:   We gather for prayer at church at 11:00am on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday mornings.  All are invited!

GEMS meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s from 6:15-8:15pm for all 2nd thru 8th grade girls at First CRC.   This year’s theme is  “TRANSFORMED”, Changed by God’s word from the inside out”.   Any questions contact Stephanie at konvalinka1984@gmail.com. 

As we gather for worship we will study Matthew 26:26-29 "Thankful: for Communion".  We will also celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.  Our celebration is a faith-building reminder of God’s promise to us of forgiveness and grace through the blood of Christ, shed on the cross.

CADETS is a program for all boys 2nd thru 8th grade.  We meet at First CRC on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s from 6:15-8:15pm.  Our first regular meeting will be Wednesday September 11th. The Illiana Kick-off Campout will be held on September 20 thru the 22nd at Davis Creek Campground in Bourbonnais, Illinois.  Please let me know whether or not your son plans on participating in the upcoming season.  This year’s theme is “Lead the Way” based on 1 Timothy 4:12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.    Please contact Jeff Eenigenburg at jeburg@go-ics.com if you would like to join us!

Today we will study 1 Samuel 26 - “Thankful: For Mercy” as we examine the intriguing story about mercy and righteousness.

Sunday School and Catechism will NOT meet this week due to the Congregational Meeting.  See you all back next week!

Our Congregational Meeting will be held right after the morning worship.  We will take a 15-minute fellowship break before coming back together for our meeting.  Plan to attend!

We welcome Rev. Ted Gray who will lead us in worship today, looking at Zechariah 3:1-10 - “How Are You Dressed?” - reflecting on our salvation through faith in Christ.
